Discover The Post Restaurant

If you’re driving along Fisherville Road and feeling hungry, The Post Restaurant at 125 Fisherville Rd, Concord, NH 03303, United States, is one of those places that feels like it’s been part of the neighborhood forever. I’ve stopped in more than once-once for a laid-back weekday lunch and another time for a busy Saturday breakfast-and each visit gave me a clear sense of why locals keep coming back.

The first thing you notice is the atmosphere. It’s casual, welcoming, and very much in tune with Concord’s community vibe. You’ll see families sharing booths, retirees chatting over coffee, and workers grabbing a quick bite. That mix says a lot. According to data from the National Restaurant Association, diners and casual restaurants remain among the most popular formats in the U.S. because they combine affordability, comfort, and familiarity. The Post fits that model perfectly, offering a menu that balances classic American comfort food with daily specials that keep things interesting.

On my breakfast visit, I ordered a traditional plate of eggs, home fries, and toast, along with a side of bacon. The eggs were cooked exactly as requested-over easy, with bright yolks and no rubbery whites. That may sound simple, but consistency in basic techniques like egg cookery is something culinary professionals emphasize. The American Culinary Federation often points out that mastering fundamentals is what separates an average kitchen from a reliable one. Here, the basics are clearly under control.

For lunch, I went with a grilled turkey club and a cup of homemade soup. The sandwich was generously layered, and the bread had that perfect balance of crisp outside and soft inside. The soup tasted freshly made rather than reheated, with balanced seasoning and no overpowering saltiness. In an era when many restaurants rely heavily on pre-processed components, it’s refreshing to taste dishes that feel prepared with care. The portion sizes are solid without being excessive, which aligns with current trends toward mindful eating and balanced servings.

The menu itself covers all the diner staples: omelets, pancakes, burgers, wraps, seafood plates, and daily specials. If you’re visiting with a group, there’s something for everyone. I’ve noticed that reviews often mention the seafood options and comfort classics like meatloaf and fried haddock. New Hampshire diners tend to appreciate hearty, straightforward meals, and this kitchen understands that preference. At the same time, lighter options like salads and grilled chicken plates offer variety for those who want something less indulgent.

Service plays a big role in the overall experience. During my visits, the staff checked in regularly without hovering. Orders came out promptly, even during peak hours. That efficiency reflects good front-of-house coordination. Industry research from hospitality management studies shows that perceived wait time significantly impacts customer satisfaction. When food arrives hot and on schedule, guests are far more likely to leave positive reviews-and that’s exactly what you’ll see reflected online for this spot.

Cleanliness and organization are also worth noting. The dining area and restrooms were tidy on both occasions, which builds trust. In food service, transparency and hygiene standards matter. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention consistently emphasize proper food handling and sanitation as critical to preventing foodborne illness. While diners rarely see what happens in the kitchen, visible cleanliness in the dining space often signals disciplined operational practices behind the scenes.

Of course, like any local diner, it can get busy during weekend brunch hours. You might wait a few minutes for a table, especially if you arrive late morning. That said, turnover is steady, and the staff manages the flow well. Parking at this Concord location is convenient, which makes it an easy stop whether you’re a local resident or just passing through.

What stands out most is the sense of reliability. The flavors are familiar but well-executed, the menu is broad without feeling chaotic, and the service feels genuinely attentive. In a dining landscape where flashy concepts come and go, places like this endure because they deliver on the basics every single day. For anyone exploring restaurants in Concord, New Hampshire, this Fisherville Road diner offers a dependable, satisfying experience grounded in comfort, community, and straightforward good food.

  • A cozy restaurant style diner with delicious and very reasonably priced food and drinks. The buffalo chicken eggs benny is top shelf. I asked for my home fries to be well done, but some of it disintegrated upon contact. I won't disturb their groove next time. They know better. Enjoy!

  • This is the absolutely best diner in Concord. The one on Main street closed down, which was disappointing. This one is excellent too, though. I went to this location for the first time today and was very pleased. It was packed. The dining room was noisy, as there was a full house. We sat outside, and the atmosphere was lovely. The food was usual Post quality, excellent!!!!!!!! I highly recommend the steak and eggs. Everything here is great, and the service is excellent.

  • I am new to the area and have already been here three times! Each with a different family member. Every time, no matter when it is, there is always a small wait. Never more then 10min though and it's very worth it. The staff are always friendly and the food is hot and delicious! Only draw back is limited parking. BUT we improvised and parked at McDonald's right next to it and walked the 1 minute walk. But for the experience I don't consider it a draw back. OH, and they have a cute outside eating area, which I have yet to try out. If you are in the area I suggest the Post you won't be disappointed.

  • Stopped in for a quick lunch after a funeral at the Boscowen veterans cemetery. Parking is tight we lucked out as a customer was leaving as we pulled in. Food is great prices are low and portions are great. Service was excellent and fast. Definitely recommend The Post Cheers

  • My daughter and I stopped in for mid day breakfast. Both of us are pretty critical when it comes to eating out. Breakfast is our favorite meal. I saw that The Post had high praise for their biscuits and gravy. It's hard to find a place anywhere really, that has biscuits and gravy that are all around enjoyable. That being said, we both had to try it! By far, the best we've had in NH... other than my own The rest of the food was really good and our waitress was super nice! We'll definitely be back for sure

  • I was visiting New Hampshire and couldn’t find grits at any restaurant. Someone told me about this place and when I say the breakfast was delicious. Everything about it was magnificent!!! I’ll definitely be coming back

  • Hands down the best breakfast in Concord. Friendly faces, good prices, and tasty food. They're also very careful and friendly with my wife's gluten allergy.

  • My husband and I just had breakfast here and it was awesome! I had the half order of the biscuits and gravy - 10 out of 10 - and my husband had the tourtiere with poached eggs, hash browns, and toast - and everything was delicious! I opted for the half order of biscuits and gravy because I typically don’t eat a lot of food in the morning, so if you’re feeling really hungry then definitely go with full order. Or have the half order as a side so you can try more of their tasty options! (And we grabbed some desserts to go - a slice of the pumpkin cake and a Black Forest cupcake. Cannot wait to try them later - they look amazing!) If we are in the area again, we would definitely come back.
